• City acquisition of the Trolley Barn Park site as a neighborhood park
• Design and installation of University Heights Street Sign
• Design and installation of three gateway community monument signs
• Enhancements on Mission Avenue Island and on median between Normal Street and Park Boulevard
• Installation of information kiosk at Trolley Barn Park
• Design and installation of banners along Park Boulevard
• Installation of ornamental street lights along Park Boulevard
• Tree plantings along Park Boulevard
• Fence enhancement at Birney Playing Field
• Landscaping and sidewalk enhancement in front of cobblestone wall on Adams Avenue between Park Boulevard and North Avenue
• Formation of the University Heights Recreation Council, chartered by the City of San Diego Parks and Recreation Board as a City of San Diego Recreation Council on March 21, 1996

University Heights is bounded by the south rim of Mission Valley, the 163 Freeway, Texas Street and Lincoln Avenue. The community lies in two community planning areas: Uptown and Greater North Park.
