Maintenance Advisory District

A Maintenance Assessment District is the legal mechanism by which property owners can vote to assess themselves to pay and receive services above-and-beyond what the City of San Diego normally provides. These above-and-beyond services are called “special benefits.”  Special benefits to the district include:  landscaping, decorative street lighting, maintenance of the UH neighborhood sign over Park Boulevard, and business district banners, among others.  (The basic services the City normally provides are called “general benefits.”)
